Babies R Us

Doctor's appointment today.  These are very re-assuring for me.  Every one is like a successful check mark on a "things are progressing nicely" chart I have in my head.  Well, other than my weight gain.  That's progressing...but, not 'nicely'...but, that's for another time ;).

So, all is well (YAY!).  I am 12 weeks and 6 days...and, when the doc did a quick ultrasound to check on things, the heartbeat was strong and the baby had gone from having arm & leg 'buds' 3 1/2 weeks ago to having arms and legs...and, Spot was waving :).  Still no word on the gender.  We may not find that out until 20 weeks :/...but, Spot's healthy. And, apparently my blood work said that I am a textbook case of ideal.  Wow.  That's just awesome.  I mean, I'm so used to being on the extreme side of things...usually not the good one :).  So, hearing "Well, these are actually...well, perfect. I don't know that I've seen many labs come back this good..."  = AMAZING :).

In a side note: Today, after lunch, I was doing a project with Elise (who is 5 and ALMOST-6 as she likes to say...). I told her I had to go potty and I'd be right back.  She said "Mom, you better go potty. Because you have a baby in your belly and you don't want the baby to get squished and hurt.  So, you better go potty, Mommy." 

Elise has these little thoughts a lot...and, I need to record them better.  She starts and ends a lot of statements these days with "because you have a baby in your belly..."  It makes me smile and warms my heart :)
