Jennifer came to visit and to show off her little Olive! It was delightful to just enjoy each other's company and to watch her as she deftly evolves into motherhood. We had lots of laughs, some deep and revealing conversations, and we did lots and lots of sewing, imagining, creating, and talking. (We both could be classified as "talkers" :). The kids enjoyed her company and her engaging them and everybody loved, loved, LOVED baby Olive! I am so appreciative of friendship and of the opportunities it can create for us to grow and develop and bond and forge together in a realm that possesses an embrace that is not contingent on stupid or menial things. Jennifer doesn't 'not like me' because I might be ornery one day or because I made a mistake or because I am too loud or because I don't dress the way she thinks I should (actually, I don't think she really cares...she just wants me to feel good). So, with all the imperfections in me, in her & in the 'us' of our friendship-there is this freedom to search and uncover and revel in the experience of FRIENDS. Thanks Jennifer for being one of the greats ;)! You rock! As does your brilliant, genius, stunningly beautiful daughter :)....
